I am a Christian, a wife, and a mother.
I love cooking. It took me years to be able to say this but after watching countless shows on The Food Network, learning technique, learning how to manage a meal to make it all come together at the same time, discovering new foods and having the courage to try interesting things, cooking has become a favorite activity of mine. Chopping (not shopping) is therapeutic for me. I love to get in the kitchen and chop up veggies and practice my knife skills!
I love writing. From the time I can remember, I've been making up stories in my head. I didn't always put them down on paper but I think my love of writing stemmed from that. That's why I blog. I am also currently working on a novel. It's been a work in progress for a long time. I hope to finish it before the next year's end. Writing helps me sort out my thoughts and release stress.
I love reading. My mom read to me all the time when I was a kid. I learned to read quickly and since that time I have read countless numbers of books. I would be hard pressed to count all the books I've read. I was the child who didn't have to be forced to join the summer reading club at the local library. I think my love for writing also stems from my love for reading. My favorite authors are Karen Kingsbury, Karen White, Francine Rivers, Dee Henderson, John Flanagan, Brandon Mull, and Christopher Paolini. I've read some really great books this year. My suggestions are...The Hunger Games Trilogy, The Help, The Beach Trees, Falling Home, On Folly Beach, The Ranger's Apprentice series, and the Fablehaven series. The Redemption series is a great place to start when reading Karen Kingsbury.
I love to spend time with my family and friends. I have been married for almost 9 years and I have a 4 year old daughter. Family get-together's and traditions are important to me. We are members of FBC Slidell, Louisiana. We have a great Sunday school class who is always there to support, lift up, and come along side of you. I have made some really great friends from this Sunday school class.
Since January 2011, I have been on a quest to live a healthier lifestyle. I started slowly and in May I got serious about setting goals, weighing in, and consistent exercise. I started and completed The Couch to 5K plan and ran a 5K in July. Since January I've lost 47 pounds. I am currently working towards my next weight loss goal of 30 pounds down by April 30, 2012 and training for a 10K in April 2012.
Thank you for viewing my blog. My prayer is that my weight loss journey and quest for a healthier lifestyle will inspire, encourage, and help other's along the way who find themselves in need of losing weight and taking back their health. I am thankful for those who have come along side of me in my journey to inspire, encourage, and help me. Along the way, I post recipes and other posts on my family or what I'm thinking about. Hey my name is Stefanie I live in Claxton, Ga. I found your blog just looking on the internet. I wasn't going to read it but when I saw the beautiful little girl I started to read. You have such a wonderful story. I'm inspired by you how you lost so much weight. I'm in the process of trying to lose weight. I just got engaged in November. I got a treadmill for Christmas and I have been trying to stay on track with that but I'm not seeing results as fast as I want so I'm getting discouraged. If I could ask you how do you stay motivated? It's so hard to stay motivated especially when I'm so tired after work. Anything to help would be great thanks so much!
